GOP Debate II: Fox Goes After Ron Paul

Paul: "You-you have to realize that the base of the Republican Party shrunk last year because of the war issue, so that percentage represents less people. If you look at 65-70% of the American people, they want us out of there, they want the war over."

In the begining.

First post.

I'm still skeptical about starting a new blog after 2 ancient Xanga's and a failed LiveJournal. I don't even blog in my MySpace anymore. What makes me think this will gain any more popularity or interest than those? Perhaps a hope to find intellectuals with similar interests and not more of the mindless drones of MySpace. I think my largest problem is I don't know enough people who are interested in the topics I post about. In my other blogs, nobody ever had anything relevant to say. Most likely, the problem is: I'm not as interesting as I think I am. Most people find themselves extremely fascinating and will remind you at great length of their importance (This is understandable. If the opposite was true, suicide would become quite the fashionable hobby). Why should I be any different?

Since the early days of LiveJournal and Xanga, I think the Internet has changed considerably, Although it has been mostly unnoticed. Everything is linking together and becoming more manageable to the average user. People with smilier interests have the ability to reach each other much more easily.

This is how I rationalize to myself that I won't abandon this blog like the others...a hint of reward. Writing a blog that nobody reads is like cooking food that nobody eats. Nobody keeps a secret diary anymore. Everybody craves validation from an audience of their peers. Especially when they can pick and choose their audience. Diary's would have never been secret if it was known that the only people that would read them were those who agree and care. The problem of teh Intr4w3b is a not a lack of sources, but adequate filtering. The downside of this insanely large amount of knowledge and connectivity is that it gives opportunity for killers, racists, rapists, perverts, thieves, and fans of American Idol to congregate and share ideas/information.

whether this blog will suffer the same abandoned fate as my old journals, only time will tell.

a recent video that explains the growth of the Internet that I talk about above, but in great detail:

Another example of growing interconnectivity. This is the Wikipedia entry for the VT massacre as the details unfolded within the first 12 hours of the shooting:

This video puts the above two in a bit more perspective:

Just for fun, how about a bit more perspective:

Now to mix things up, lets zoom back out for even more perspective:

More specific size comparisons:

...and that friends is why this Libertarian Buddhist Raver is worth reading. I'm interesting! I'm smart! I'm funny! I'm worthy of your time! I deserve your interest! I CRAVE YOUR VALIDITY!

So here we go again, this time, with Blogger.
